Any funny stories to share about your time as a stallholder?
Not really a funny story… I was told last minute about a Xmas market at Nanango. I contacted the market organiser and pleaded with them. They let me book in. I took my daughter with me. We left late on the Friday night (after a market) to drive the 2 hours to Nanango. We slept in the car outside the Showgrounds right next to the gate, so we could be up at 3 to get in the gate. Only to find on waking up that we had been at the wrong gate. Oops. Found the correct gate and were let in to set up. During the day we met a lovely lady and her husband of many years. She wanted to get him one of our rings as a replacement wedding ring (which we do many many of these) and made him take off his old ring… Which was an off cut of pipe that he picked up off the workshop floor over 30 years previously when he accidentally destroyed his original ring. They gave us the old off cut of pipe which we now have on display at our markets.
What one piece of advice would you give to a new stallholder?
Keep smiling. Be comfortable (we take a gas heater in winter months, and a battery fan in the heat) The good customers and markets far outweigh the negative ones
