Karen White |
What is the name of your business? |
Olde Country Shoppe |
How long have you been trading? |
Since June 2013 |
What products do you sell? |
Country & Vintage Homewares, Old Wares and Unique Christmas Decorations (mainly sourced from USA) |
What sells the best? |
Christmas decorations |
What markets do you trade at? |
Glenbrook Rotary Markets, Rivergum Cottage Markets, Belgenny Farm Markets and one Fairs during the year (I always list them on Facebook and Instagram) |
How did it all begin? |
I have always loved country and vintage wares, antiques and old wares (my Mum grew up in country NSW and we used to go there for our school holidays). I fell in love with the American country/vintage items in 2011 and they weren’t readily available in Australia. So I decided to share my love of these items with my Market business. Now I have quite a few American suppliers. |
What do you like most about being a stallholder? |
Sharing my passion of old wares, American country and vintage homewares and Christmas decorations. Also meeting new customers and seeing existing customers and meeting other stallholders. |
What do you like least about being a stallholder? |
The early morning starts in winter but once I get there and start unpacking that soon warms me up. |
Where do you see yourself in 5 years time? |
I would love my business to be self supporting and have a shop or a shop/shed in my backyard. That way I can give up my weekly full time job and concentrate on my business. |
What one piece of advice would you give to a new stallholder? |
Always greet your customers when they come into your stall! |
